It all started in the year 2009 when a young kid that we today know as Mate Rimac started Rimac Automobili. Since its establishment, Mate has gone through countless humility and self-doubt from those around him who advised against building an electric hypercar from scratch in Croatia. But, with Mate’s profound belief and dedication towards his vision, we are here in 2024 celebrating Rimac Automobili’s 15 years of achieving the impossible.

A lot has changed within these 15 years of Rimac’s history, from achieving numerous world records in Mate’s self-converted all-electric BMW based on a 1984 3-series, to developing the first all-electric production hypercar and merging with the French hypercar maker Bugatti.

To commemorate all of those 15 years of struggle and success, the Croatian automaker has recently unveiled a special Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary edition that will be exclusive to a number of just nine bespoke examples in the world to be ever built. If you need to learn more about how Mate Rimac started Rimac Automobili, we’d also like to suggest you visit the article below.

Rimac Nevera – The Story Behind 1914-hp New Era Electrified Hypercar Performance & Engineering

Returning back to the Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition, it’s undoubtedly a good-looking masterpiece packed under a somewhat 1900-horsepower all-electric powertrain. With a total of nine units to be ever produced, the Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition comes in a unique duo-tone shade of matte copper and exposed glossy carbon fiber finish. The fully visible carbon fiber split beneath the matte copper finish beautifully contrasts with the glossy carbon fiber texture and satin copper hue. This marks the first time a Rimac Nevera has been finished with matte paintwork.

According to Rimac, this unique matte copper shade denotes a series of events in the Croatian automaker’s 15 years of history worth celebrating. Another practical explanation behind this new matte copper paint scheme is directly related to electricity and the significant role of copper being a key element used inside the electrical cables of their cars. Moreover, the duo-tone design can also be seen on the car’s alloy wheels with six spokes in copper hue and three in black.

To ensure it’s the 15th Anniversary special edition Nevera, you’ll notice the attention to detail Rimac has featured on these special edition hypercars with 15th Anniversary badges on both the front fenders. There’s also a unique decal pattern similar to the connections of a circuit board running from the bonnet to the active rear wing measuring its entire length.

The copper charm beautifully defines Rimac Automobili’s 15th Anniversary appeal inside its interiors. The cabin offers an amazing combination of copper with bold black or pristine white finishing options. Additionally, you’ll see copper anodized switchgear and other surfaces finished copper treatment, including the door handles and steering wheel buttons.

To remind you of its legacy and exclusivity once inside, this Nevera reads a special “one-of-nine” and ‘2009-2024’ signature script on the armrest which further adorns the number 15 marking it among the rare nine Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition models designed, engineered, and manufactured in Croatia. The number “15” has a decent presence inside the cabin where it gets embossed into the headrests of the seats featuring contrasting copper leather and copper stitching. You can even spot the number “15” sitting on the copper-painted door handles of this special edition Nevera.

“Honestly, when I started to tinker with my first car in a garage, I couldn’t have even dreamt of being where we are 15 years later. There were so many times in the early years that we really thought the company wouldn’t make it, so reaching the 15-year milestone felt like it was worthy of a celebration. The 15th Anniversary Edition Nevera is the car that marks our progress, revelling just how far we’ve come. From garage to global; from worrying about keeping the lights on to a 2bn EUR valuation; from converted BMW 3 Series to the world’s fastest accelerating production car and from hypercar maker to Tier 1 EV tech supplier and energy storage pioneers. All achieved in a country where all of this would have sounded like science fiction at the time of founding the company.”

To own one of these nine exclusive masterpieces, one would have to spare a price equivalent of €2,350,000 which includes all additional packages along with a custom luggage set that matches the interior theme of the customer’s Nevera. The first one of the nine Rimac Nevera 15th Anniversary Edition models made its debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is the same Goodwood hill-climb course where the Nevera Time Attack edition set the Production Car record in 2023 within just 49.32 seconds.
